Working with Vicki was a rewarding experience for me! She helped me bring to fruition a project that for many years had only been a dream. To start with, she helped me clearly define and set goals. Then she took me through each step, evaluating and clarifying the objective. I was amazed at her thorough approach and how she kept me accountable for making progress throughout the project. I felt a sense of accomplishment after each session. Vicki is a great coach and I highly recommend her!
Just wanted to let you know that Vicki's book (that I ordered) came in today's mail. My wife & I both read it and it's pretty much on the mark for young children! Yeah, even us "older kids" of 60.... I kept reading "Lucy" for "Lucky". My little Dachshund had to be "put to sleep" (Gawd, I despise that term but it is nicer than "put down") several months ago and her name was "Lucy". I still miss that little Pest.... Anyway, I just thought I'd let you folks know. This really is a Great Book!!! Please tell your Lovely Bride that we say "Thank You" for writing such a wonderful book....
Vicki is Great. Through a casual conversation she can help someone pin point key issues and focus on underlying causes for areas in which she is coaching. She has the innate ability to aid in removing distractions and excuses which hinder progress in any area. She is firm, yet patient and provides a positive voice in working towards individual goals or in developing solutions. I can't say enough "good" or positive things. Sometimes having an objective 3rd party can give you that nudge to change your life. A few conversations with Vicki can do just that.
I helped Vicki with her Coaching practice sessions, using sample clients in her coursework. Of course I thought "others" could use coaching. Then suddenly, during a session, I realized I could really use her help with an issue I was dealing with at work, where I manage a large NASA contract. We completed our practice, and then scheduled a time for the next day to focus on my real-life issue. Vicki did a terrific job of helping me. So much so, we do a coaching session every other week, focusing on work issues, as well as my eating and exercise regimen. If you think coaching is just for "others", you are missing out on a tremendous opportunity to be more than you currently are; to improve in any direction you want, to become your best. See for yourself.
I bought a copy of this book because a friend of a friend knows the author and we had just lost our family dog to old age. This story helped my daughter because the pictures and words took her thru what she was feeling after her own dog died. The book helped her acknowledge her grief in a way she could relate to as a child. It made me cry too at a certain page. I would definitely recommend for small children to help them grieve.
Everyone needs a nudge now and then and Vicki Gallagher provided a nonjudgmental one while guiding me with questions that directed me to discover why I was discouraged and frustrated with my life. Although I had accepted weight gain, Vicki helped me see weight gain was causing physical and emotional issues that were not allowing me to enjoy my family, friends, work and hobbies. In just a few sessions the "Task Master" had me making changes of my choice which enabled me to move forward in a positive direction. Yes, I have lost weight and continue to do so and am thankful I was given the Life-Inventor, LLC business card because I never would have made these changes without the structure provided by Vicki Gallagher's life coaching.
Before working with Vicki, I tried losing unwanted weight for years. My doctor said I was obese, but the nutritionist said that I was eating all the right foods. My energy was low, sugar level high, and blood pressure high. I would lose a couple of pounds but would gain it right back and then I would try another way to lose the weight again. It got confusing. Timid at first in making the call to Vicki, it was much easier than I expected. Vicki has a great personality; is a good listener with a calm way of speaking to me and seemed to share the same interests as me. Vicki starts each session with a philosophical saying from some great athlete, author, or philosopher; sayings I would think about during my walks. Also the sessions were a two way street of finding out why I couldn’t lose the weight. She would share exercise ideas, and little by little the confusion started to be solved. It was like walking up a steep hill, and as the weight started coming off, the hill started to level off. Setting goals and making discoveries changed confusion into direction.
This way of thinking works best for me: "Don’t walk in front of me, for I shall not follow. Don’t walk behind me, for I shall not lead. Walk next to me and just be my friend." Thank you Vicki! You are a success, and I am too.
